Growing Evelyn May Roses

Good soil in a sheltered, sunny spot is ideal for these large blooms, but like most Rosas, they are tough plants, and these tolerate a bit of shade well: less light tends to make them floppy, and thus benefit from being tied up.

In Your Garden Design

The orange salmon flowers with hints of yellow would work well in a warm palette of yellows, apricots and gold. Digitalis ‘Sutton Apricot’ and Diascia ‘Salmon Supreme’ alongside a few peach lupins would look stunning.

Did You Know?

It was bred in 2000 by Peter Beales (1936-2013), who named her after his mother, and she's definitely a Mother's Day gift to consider for any mum who knows her rose history!
