If For Your Eyes Only were a woman, she would be a Bond girl....sassy, beautiful with the right vital statistics and looking wonderful in a plethora of unlikely situations. This is an all-terrain rose, pink with salmon or apricot tinges in the main body but with a deep, concentrated pink central eye from which a flurry of golden stamens glitter. These inner markings are typical of Persica roses and are similar to, and as seductive as those on a hibiscus. The floribunda breeding means that you do get masses of flowers continuously over the season from early summer right through to autumn. Even though each individual flower is quite a simple single structure with five loosely arranged petals, its effect is of something far more elaborate. Match this with very disease resistant foliage that is shiny and dark green, a light scent and a pleasing, symmetrical growing habit and you do have the perfect rose.

Easy to maintain, and tough too - they have shaken and stirred it and it has still survived all soils and weather conditions - this rose would suit neophyte gardeners too. But for those who are looking for roses with older provenance and heavier scents have a look at some of the shrub roses like Alfred de Dalmas.
It took thirty years for Chris Warner of Warners Roses in Shropshire to selectively breed this rose. No wonder it had to be kept secret for so long. Another spin-off from the film was the Citroen 2 CV. Citroen even produced their own 'For Your Eyes Only' "CV model, complete with bullet holes for general release.
