Red Labyrinth: A Dinnerplate Dahlia in Deep Red and Pink
Red Labyrinth is one of the Labyrinth family of dinnerplate decorative dahlias. The 20cm flowers are a blend of deep red and pink, with the colours swirling through the broad, ruffled petals. At 90cm it's shorter than most dinnerplates, which makes it slightly more manageable in a border.
The large flowers need staking and a generous 75cm spread. It flowers from July to the frosts and the stems are strong enough for cutting. A few stems in a vase make an immediate impact.
Placing Red Labyrinth
The red-and-pink tones work in warm and romantic schemes. For a Labyrinth family planting, combine with Twotone Labyrinth (lilac-pink and white, same form). Dark Spirit (near-black, 90cm) provides depth alongside the reds and pinks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Red Labyrinth related to Labyrinth?
Part of the same family. The Labyrinth dahlias share the dinnerplate decorative form but come in different colour combinations. Red Labyrinth is deeper and warmer than the lilac-pink Twotone Labyrinth.
Will Red Labyrinth grow in a pot?
The 20cm flowers make it too big and top-heavy for containers. Grow in a border with staking. Our pots guide covers what works.
Is Red Labyrinth good for cutting?
Dramatic in a vase. The large flowers fill an arrangement quickly. Cut only fully open blooms. Full growing advice in our dahlia growing guide.
