Standard or "tree roses" have a clear stem 100cm tall.

Pot sizes are measured by their volume in litres, except for the smallest size, 9cm / p9 pots, which are roughly half a litre.

Description

Constance Spry David Austin Rose (Ausfirst)

Constance Spry was David Austin's first English Rose, hence its breeder's name of Ausfirst. It is a lovely summer flowering variety with large, delicate flowers with a classic pink colour. It is usually grown as a medium-sized, sturdy climber to about 6 metres tall, but it can be grown as a large shrub rose if you prefer. This rose is credited with introducing the scent of myrrh into English rose breeding stock.

Did You Know?

Introduced in 1960. Its parents are Belle Isis, a gallica rose, and Dainty Maid.

It was named after the English florist, teacher and author Constance Spry, née Fletcher (1886 - 1960). As well as being a beloved headmistress to her pupils, her universal claim to fame is being the co-creator of coronation chicken.
