Description

Rosa Stanwell Perpetual - Shrub Roses

Description of Stanwell Perpetual Roses:
This rugged old rose has thorny stems and a pretty much continuous flowering period from summer until Christmas (and that is not a typo). The plump, pale pink, swirling flowers have a lovely, though not very strong, scent. Stanwell Perpetual likes to be pruned quite hard as it ages and so it does very well as a hedge plant. As a specimen, we recommend you follow Gertrude Jekyll and plant three in a triangular group with about 60 cms between plants. They will then form a mounded shrub about 150 cms (5 feet) tall. Stanwell Perpetual is incredibly hardy and very disease resistant - perhaps its only shortcoming - for some - is that it is extremely thorny.
