Growing Cordyline 'Red Star'

Does best in full sun or partial shade in a fertile, well-drained soil. Grow in pots as a feature plant. It is half hardy, so will need winter fleece protection in colder places, especially young plants.

These make a wonderfully architectural focal point for a patio or terrace in a large pot, or group in borders with other exotics and purple and toning plants, such as gingers, dahlias, fatsia, hemerocallis and sedums.
