Pink Capitatum adds vivid colour and fragrance to any garden from early summer well into autumn. The clusters of large, bright pink flowers look stunning in container displays on the patio table or by paths and doors where the scent from the aromatic foliage can be enjoyed as you walk around the garden.

Planting Companions for Pink Capitatum

These attractive, low maintenance plants are perfect for brightening up a patio display. They blend well with other scented-leaved pelargoniums and look particularly striking combined with white varieties. At the front of a sunny, scented border, they add height and colour alongside herbs like silver thyme, chamomile and marjoram.

Pink Capitatum also makes a fabulous house plant and can be brought under cover in winter for protection or kept indoors throughout the year. Its delicately scented leaves add a beautiful fragrance to the house and the cheerful pink blooms look great in flower arrangements.

Did You Know?

Many pelargonium species originate from South Africa where they thrive in the hot, dry conditions. They were being grown in Europe by the seventeenth century and in 1631, renowned gardener and collector John Tradescant the elder brought seeds to the UK from Paris. In the mid-twentieth century, the Spalding List in the US organised pelargoniums into seven different groups - Scented-Leaved, Zonals, Regals, Species, Variegated-Leaved, Old and Ivy-Leaved. More recently the categories Angel, Unique and Primary Hybrids have been added. New cultivars continue to be developed each year.
