Honeysuckle & Lonicera Plants

The Best Climbing Honeysuckle Varieties

Modern honeysuckles, Lonicera species, are redolent of a country cottage garden. They come with a wide range of flower colour from palest lemon yellow to scarlet, and many flower continuously through the summer (it is not unusual to see honeysuckle in fruit and bud at the same time). With just a few exceptions, honeysuckle is heavily and sweetly scented and much loved by pollinators, especially bees.

The more vigorous varieties are best grown over pergolas and arches or against walls with strong supports. There are, however, less vigorous growers for smaller gardens. You can also look at the rest of our climbing plant range.

The genus was named in honour of the German botanist Adam Lonicer (1528-1586).

All honeysuckles are pot grown, so there is free delivery on orders over £100, and they are all covered by our Guarantee.
