Clematis Lemon Dream is awash with soft yellow scented flowers from spring to the end of the summer. Each semi-double bloom emerges lemon-yellow and fades through cream to white as it ages. Growing Lemon Dream

This hardy clematis works well in containers where its growth can be contained by regular pruning. It will also scramble over the ground to create cover in borders and grows happily through deciduous trees and shrubs. Trained against a wall or pergola, the flowers are held at head height so their beauty and fragrance can be more easily appreciated.

Planting Companions

It's an ideal foil for other pale or creamy-white flowering roses, geraniums and peonies. This elegant climber contrasts well with the bold colours of alliums like Purple Sensation and the sultry tones of dark iris such as Black Watch or Dutch Chocolate. Climbing through trees and shrubs, the soft yellow and creamy blooms combine gracefully with apple and mock orange blossom.

Bred by Szczepan Marczynski in Poland and introduced in the UK in 2012. 

Travellers' joy is the only clematis native to the UK. Its Latin name is Clematis vitalba. A vigorous climber, this clematis twines through hedges and scrambles up trees on chalky soils. Delicate white flowers develop into downy seed-heads that persist for months, giving it another of its common names - old man's beard.
