Temple of Beauty Tulips

If you love to greet spring with exhuberance and flair, then Temple of Beauty Tulips are the perfect choice for your garden. Dramatic in container displays and spectacular in the middle of mixed borders, these tulips are sure to turn heads in the garden this spring. The lily-shaped flowers are vibrant salmon-rose with pink flushes on the outside of the petals and darker orange tints around the edges. The eye-catching blooms of Temple of Beauty are carried on tall, sturdy stems, perfect for cutting to bring a splash of spring colour and scent indoors. Reliably perennial and developing huge bulbs, Temple of Beauty has real staying power and presence in the garden, so it's not surprising that this giant of a tulip has received a coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, along with many other varieties from our range of tulip bulbs, all available to buy online.

Keeping the Faith

It can be hard to remember the beauty and bounty of warmer days when the icy blasts descend in late autumn and winter. But by planting bulbs with the promise of hot colours to come in the spring, we can all keep faith in the return of brighter days. Temple of Beauty, with its vivid mix of reds, oranges and pinks, is a perfect antidote to the greys and browns of winter. You can extend this range of sunset colours throughout your borders by planting alongside other flamboyant tulips such as Hermitage, Pink Impression and Orange Brilliant, or combine Temple of Beauty with late-flowering daffodils like Fortune and Cheerfulness for an eye-catching late spring mix. For dazzling container displays, plant Temple of Beauty en masse in pots by the front door or along a path to enjoy the uplifting colours each time you pass by.

Giants in the Garden

Temple of Beauty, bred by leading tulip hybridiser Dirk W. Lefeber in 1959, was the tallest tulip breeders had ever seen. Over the next few years more cultivars were added to the Giant Lefeber Hybrid Range including Hocus Pocus with its sulphurous petals lit with red flames and the elegant apricot-pink Big Brother.
