Description

Tulipa Spring Green

An ivory white/cream goblet of petal power, Spring Green is differentiated by the feathered, pale orchard-green central channel on its outer petals. In addition, its anthers are a light, grasshopper green rounding off a stunning and unusual tulip. The petals are almost orchid like in their texture making this tulip robust and at medium height reasonably windproof. Browse all of our tulip bulbs.

A Seasonal Favourite

Because its colours evoke the purity and new beginnings of spring, this tulip could not be a more powerful reminder of the change in season. This unsullied look could begin with the white Narcissus 'Mount Hood' in April to be followed by 'Spring Green' in large blocks for a crisp and clean look. Used with the blue Omphalodes capadocica 'Cherry Ingram’, lime-yellow Smyrnium perfoliatum and the vivid honesty Lunaria annua 'Munstead Purple’ you have a veritable garden design in itself. Or investigate the Darwin tulips with their multifarious colours and markings for a foil in form and ostentation, 'Burning Heart' could be fun. Bring some of that spring air into the house and plant up pots of 'Spring Green' to freshen up bedrooms and remind you that even if there is still a nip in the air, summer is around the corner. Or just cut bunches of these wonderful blooms - they last really well.

Things to know

Viridflora comes from the Latin for green (viridis) and flower (flos). All viridiflora tulips have trendy, lime-green markings somewhere to provide contrast to the main body of the flower. For this reason they are much sought after by florists.
