Description

Chocolate Mint Plants

There isn't really anything chocolate-y about this variety, other than it smells like After Eight chocolate mints. Rather, its full-bodied minty flavour, with faintly orange-citrus notes, is a superb match for chocolate in desserts (or breakfasts - life is uncertain, after all).

If you allow it to flower, it has pale purple-blue blooms in July-August.

Features:

  • Perfect for mixing with chocolate
  • Hints of orange-citrus flavour
  • To 40-60cm

Don't plant mint varieties next to each other: Curiously, if you plant one type of mint right next to another, they lose their individual scent and flavour.

Orange mint, the parent from which this cultivar was selected, was bred from watermint, Mentha aquatica, crossed with the classic spearmint, Mentha spicata.
