Red Devil Hybrid Tea Rose

Fiendishly thorny (even for a rose) but otherwise Red Devil is a quite superb upright hybrid tea rose with healthy green foliage and long strong stems, carrying beautifully shaped, high centred, strongly scented, scarlet flowers. These are large - when fully out they can be up to 10 cms (4 inches) across - and they are carried in quantity from mid/late June until early October. Good by itself, but we think Red Devil is better planted in a single variety triangular group of three when it puts on a real show. To 4 ft

Great all round disease resistance.

Bred by Patrick Dickson (1926-2012) in Northern Ireland in the early 1960's. The parents were Silver Lining and Prima Ballerina. Its registration code is DICam and it has also been sold under the name Coeur d'Amour.

It has a Royal National Rose Society Show Certificate of Merit from 1965 and a gold medal from the 1969 Belfast Rose Trials, among several other awards.
