Fagus Varieties in Standard Sizes
We are approaching the end of our season for bareroot standard trees and have a limited amount of stock left, so please go directly to our ornamental tree availability list to see what there is.
Beech, Fagus sylvatica, is a big, native tree that thrives on any well drained soil. Grown in the open, it will branch and develop a wide, rounded canopy, and in a forest, it will be more like a pillar with a narrow canopy.
Planted in a group (three is always a good number) both green beech and copper beech make an instant impression.
Standard trees are measured by their girth 1 metre above the ground, and young saplings are measured by height. Therefore, a 6/8cm Standard Beech tree is much bigger than an 60/80cm Beech sapling tree or hedge plant. If a tree is available in both sizes, it will be noted in the product descriptions.
For smaller, more economical plants that you would use in a hedge or for woodland planting, please look at our beech hedging, and you can browse all of our trees in standard sizes here.
All our Beech trees are covered by our no-quibble Guarantee, which means you can order with complete confidence. Free delivery on orders over £120. Best advice & friendly support throughout.
