Description

Rosa Fascination Floribunda Rose

Fascination is a pretty, charming floribunda rose which is very free flowering, covered with trusses of up to 8 blooms of coral pink in flushes the summer. The flowers are reminiscent of camellias. The foliage is dark green and the shrub is compact, neat and bushy reaching 2.5ft in width and height. It was bred in Denmark and introduced into the UK in 1999 when it deservedly won the Rose Society's Rose of the Year award. It also holds an RHS Award of Merit.

You can find our other UK grown floribunda roses here.

Great for your garden

Being such a compact rose, Fascination is delightful grown at the front of a border in association with orange, white or other apricot roses or to provide an accent for small blue and purple perennials in a mixed planting. It is lovely in groups of 3 or 5 in association with Lavandula Hidcote or the very pretty pink, Dianthus Doris. In common with a number of compact floribundas, it can provide an extremely pretty low growing flowering hedge.

Trivia

Rosa Fascination was bred in Denmark by M and L Olesen and introduced to the market by Poulsen Rosen A/Sin 1989 under the name Fredensborg Castle. It was brought to the UK by Cants of Colchester in 1999, renamed Fascination and awarded the Rose Society's Rose of the Year award in the same year.

Fredensborg Castle is the Danish royal family's 18th century summer residence first used on 11 October 1722, Frederick IV's 51st birthday. The word Fredensborg means Palace of Peace and the gardens of the castle, the Fredensborg Palace Gardens, are a fine example of a large baroque landscape.
